2026 – 3 Night/2 Day Painting Break in Norfolk

Another great residential – thank you Sophia.  I really enjoy these mini-breaks as it enables me to spend time away in a relaxing and calm environment with luxury in mind.  Everyone was lovely and we had a great time out in the evenings at some local restaurants.  As usual, I would always recommend Sophia if you want to learn to paint or improve on what you already do.

Once again, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my painting break with Sophia and came away with art that I had fun creating.  As always, the other participants were lovely and good company.  I can’t wait until the next one in 2027 and have already put my name down.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my break away on Sophia’s painting holiday – it was relaxing with plenty of space to myself as well as interact with all the lovely participants.  The inhouse spa was a really nice addition too.  I’ve come away with two paintings that I’m really pleased with.

2025 – 3 Night/2 Day Painting Break in Norfolk

Thank you Sophia.  A really great few days spent in luxurious accommodation, very relaxing and in good company.  Sophia guided us through some autumnal scenes learning new techniques.  I’m very happy with what I produced.  Great fun and I highly recommend.

I’ve been on many of Sophia’s painting holidays and have always found them to be a wonderful break.  Each time, we end up with paintings that we couldn’t believe we could produce, but Sophia’s teaching style enables everyone to come away with a completed painting whilst relaxing at the same time.

Thank you for a week of great painting. We loved it – being absolute beginners, we never thought we’d manage to do it, but did! Sophia is a fabulous teacher and did a great job with it all.

This was my first time on a 2 day painting residential. I had a fabulous time and am really happy with the paintings I produced under Sophia’s guidance. She encouraged me to go off piste and paint my own version of the painting on offer which I really loved doing. I highly recommend these classes for all abilities. Great fun!

2024 – Norfolk Residential

Once again, Sophia has provided me with a really lovely painting holiday away. Not only did I enjoy painting, but visited many beautiful gardens, including some lovely walks around nature reserves. I’ve come away with three lovely paintings which I’ve hung up on my conservatory. Thank you Sophia for your patience in teaching me.

It was such a special week. The house is lovely and in a perfect position by the sea. Our trips out were great and Sophia was completely flexible with the itinerary, taking into account the weather and what people wanted to do. Sophia worked so hard to understand, sense and anticipate what each of us needed at any moment. It was a space I felt I could relax and just be me!!!

I’m really happy with my paintings. Over the last few years Sophia has helped me become more confident and accepting of what I can achieve.

I’ve just returned from Sophia’s Residential Art Week in Norfolk.   It was such a relaxed and varied week.  Three days of painting supported by Sophia’s calm encouragement and other days when we visited gardens and places of interest.  The house we stayed in was very well appointed with wonderful views of the sea.  At the back is a pretty private garden.  It’s a holiday I would thoroughly recommend to anyone even if you don’t think you can paint!

I really enjoyed this year’s residential.  It was a great group and we had a lovely time together.  I hadn’t painted since the last residential and so was pleased to produce paintings I was happy with especially as I did my own scene on the last day.  I improve each time under Sophia’s patient tuition and am already looking forward to next year.

I recently enjoyed another fantastic residential painting holiday with Sophia Flowers, my second in Norfolk and tenth in total.  There was a good balance of painting days and trips out, lovely accommodation and great food in a variety of local pubs and restaurants.  Sophia is a great tutor, encouraging and very supportive.  It was a really relaxed and friendly week.

2022 – Norfolk Residential

I really enjoyed my recent holiday with Sophia.  It was a lovely group and there was much fun and laughter.  I found her to be very encouraging, bringing out the best in everyone.  I enjoyed it so much, I’ve put my name down for next year already.

Having been to a number of Sophia Flowers residential painting holidays, I can honestly say they are always such fun and very relaxing which is exactly what I need. Sophia always choses high quality accommodation and puts together a great week including day trips out. I always feel very relaxed afterwards and am quite often surprised at the paintings I manage to produce under her brilliant guidance.

Once again, Sophia successfully arranged a one week painting holiday in Norfolk. The holiday was excellent with a mixture of professionally tutored painting classes, visits to a number of Norfolk beauty spots and finally, carefully selected pubs and restaurants! We bonded as a group which added to the success of the holiday.

Sophia organised a wonderful week’s painting holiday in Norfolk.  The house we stayed in was beautiful with magnificent views across the sea.  The holiday involved 3 days of painting and 3 days of trips out to various places of interest no more than half an hour’s journey from the house.  My favourite was The Wild Flower Centre near Holt.  In the evenings we went to various pubs in the area for our evening meal.  The food at each was great.

Everything was extremely well planned and organised.  The group got on really well helped by Sophia’s warm, happy personality.

2019 – French Residential

I’ve just come back from a lovely painting holiday in France with Sophia.  I enjoyed the experience of painting more than I imagined and found it very relaxing, enjoyable and creative.  I’ve never painted before and surprised myself with how well the paintings turned out.

Sophia is a great teacher.  I wasn’t feeling confident in myself at first, but she was so patient and positive with me.  The villa, food, hospitality and company were excellent.  I’d definitely recommend this painting holiday.

It was the first time I had been abroad and I couldn’t have chosen better.  Sophia arranged everything she could for all of us whilst being inspirational and compassionate to all those she taught.  The whole group had lots of laughs and fun and there was plenty of good food and  wine.

I have recently returned from a painting holiday in France organised extremely professionally by Sophia Flowers.  The holiday was held at a charming luxury villa near Carcassonne, set in undulating countryside.  The owners, Alistair and Janine, made us extremely welcome providing out of this world food, wine and very friendly hospitality. 

The group bonded from the start and have since met as we now have the common interest of painting.  The holiday was a unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience and can only be highly recommended.  Thanks Sophia.

Another fabulous holiday brilliantly organised by Sophia.  She achieved the right balance of painting and activities, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.  The painting provided new challenges with Sophia giving guidance and support while allowing each individual to develop their own style.  Wonderful food and wine together with a great deal of laughter meant nobody wanted it to end!

I have just had a wonderful and memorable painting holiday organised by Sophia.  The accommodation and food were top notch and we were situated in the most idyllic and peaceful surroundings, ideal for aspiring artists.   It was my first experience of such a holiday and I wish I’d done it sooner.  Sophia, as a teacher, is absolutely fantastic!  Her lessons were structured and great fun.  The group of budding artists, of varying abilities, were all treated as individuals and painted as such – none of us expected to produce a masterpiece, but a few almost did!  I can highly recommend this talented, fun-loving and inspiring teacher who nothing seems to faze!  Thank you.

I had never been on a painting holiday before and had some reservations, but I needn’t have been concerned.  I can honestly say it was the most superb holiday I have ever been on.  I loved every minute of it, in such a beautiful set-up and to have such good company.  The villa was fantastic up on a hill and the panarama so beautiful with the quietness of it all.  I loved the small nooks and secluded areas in the gardens and the rooms were first class.  The whole set up was five star and what lovely hosts in Janine and Alistair.  Thank you Sophia.
