Enjoyable & Fun Painting Classes:
Do you wish to access the creativity that you just know is there, but don’t quite know how to let it out? You’re not sure where to start or you may feel you can’t paint at all, then these painting classes are ideal for you because I believe everyone can paint – you just need to be shown a way that is right for you. Even if you have never painted before, you can get exciting results immediately. Instruction will allow you to build up your own painting with confidence whilst leaving you, the artist, free to bring forth your own unique style.
Of course, these classes are also ideal for those wishing to improve on existing painting skills and learn new techniques all with the aim of discovering new ideas and freeing your inner artist.
We will be using a variety of mediums such as acrylic, some inks, maybe a little mixed media with some oil. Excellent effects can be achieved with all of these to create texture depth and colour.
My aim is to provide a supportive environment, where people feel relaxed and comfortable, leaving you room to have fun and the freedom to paint as you wish.
Classes include all materials, ie canvas, brushes, paints, palette and not forgetting an apron! Chairs are available and we will be sitting for most of our painting.
Accommodation
Our accommodation is a substantial detached Victorian House overlooking the sea on the coast road running through Mundesley, North Norfolk. It is located 5 minutes from the village centre.
Bedrooms: There are a total of 7 bedrooms with luxury in mind. Each bedroom provides a tranquil space in which to relax and unwind during your stay. All bedrooms are very spacious with ample room to walk round the beds. The beds are supplied with high quality mattresses and mattress pads to add extra comfort plus the house has a powerful and efficient heating system so it’s very snug. All bedlinen is pure white and of high quality. If you get cold, there are also spare blankets. Personal towels are provided.
Three of the bedrooms are on the first floor and the remaining four are on the top floor.
Bathrooms:
Ground Floor: The ground floor contains a cloakroom with toilet and sink.
First Floor: The first floor contains 2 bathrooms – one with a corner whirlpool/jacuzzi bath and electric shower, one with a roll top bath and fabulous powerful walk in shower cubicle. Both have toilets and sinks.
Second Floor: The second floor contains one compact bathroom with shower and bath, toilet and sink.
Hot Tub and Sauna: We have the added surprise of a hot tub and sauna located in the converted outhouses accessible from the garden. The four person infrared sauna and six person hot tub are available all year round for guests exclusive use.
French doors in front of the hot tub open out onto the garden so that when the weather is good, you feel like you’re almost outside and when it rains or it’s cold you can still comfortably use the spa room with the lights dimmed making it cosy and inviting. Complimentary spa gowns are available for us to use.
In terms of the inventory, it sounds like we have just about everything we could ever ask for and the kitchen is huge which is just as well as we are painting in here!
Kitchen: gas hob and electric range cooker, American style fridge freezer, 2 full size dish washers, kettle, toaster, microwave, dining table and chairs (the art equipment will be set up on this but there are plenty of other spaces in which to eat), a sofa, a TV, a tall larder, wall cupboard and a welsh dresser with every glass I could think of!
In the Boiler Room off the Kitchen: iron and ironing board and other cleaning devices which I hope we don’t need to use.
Under Sink: dishwasher powder, salt and rinse aid, bathroom cleaner, etc, and even a few tea towels, bless them.
Bathrooms: non-slip mats, bath mats + 3 to 4 toilet rolls per bathroom. Extra toilet rolls will be available.
Sitting Room: Flat screen TV, Sky HD Box, DVD player, stereo with a selection of cds, ipod dock. One open fire and one log burner in separate fireplaces. A selection of books and board games.
WIFI: free wifi is available.
Garden: seating, BBQ, umbrellas in the summer, deckchairs.
Extras: It is possible for me to arrange for a massage or beauty treatment for that little extra pampering. For those interested, please let me know and I will have it organised. This comes at an extra cost.
The garden is delightful. It’s a real sun trap so if it’s chilly on the beach, but sunny, it will probably be warm enough to sit in the garden.
Please be aware, smoking is not permitted.
Meals
A complimentary glass of preseco or soft drink will be available on arrival to celebrate the beginning of our Residential. In addition, please note that an assortment of teas and coffees together with milk will be readily available throughout the week in addition to snacks and biscuits.
Breakfast: There will be a range of cereals on offer (including gluten free) together with milk, good coffee, teas, etc (including decaf).
Lunch: On the painting days, soup with hot rolls/butter will be available followed by cake/snacks. On the day trips out, the cost of lunch is not included leaving you are free to make your own choice at the many lovely places we visit.
Evening: Each evening, bookings will be made at a local nearby restaurant or public house to ensure we have a variety of delicious food and menus. The cost of the evening meals is not included leaving you free to make your own choice at the many wonderful places to eat serving home-made and local food. Dietary requirements are catered for by these establishments.
