Hi Everyone

I hope that you are all well as we step into a fresh year.   Each year brings the opportunity for us to do those these things we’ve always wanted to, visit new places or it may be to say things to those near and dear to you.  Whatever it is, I hope they are all achieved with joy.  It’s going to be a special year… a year where perhaps things are different.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself over the festive period what with decorating Freshwater Bay House, holding some arts and crafts evenings and then a New Year demonstration.   I am now ready to have a couple of weeks quiet time as I prepare for 2020.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you though…. It was such a full 2019 that the need to paint fresh paintings, etc, and create new ideas for  art students intending to come to classes and workshops has arrived.  Not only that, the need to paint for myself is so strong that if I don’t do it, I may well burst!  Chuckle, so that bursting needs to come out onto canvas and I plan to hold an Art Exhibition at Quarr Abbey  23rd to 28th April when the days are lighter and brighter.

This year ahead is different in that we won’t be travelling to France for our Residential Painting Holiday.  However, the villa and owners will always hold a place in our hearts.  However, we will be staying at Abingworth Hall this time which not only has a light airy room in which to paint, but is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with plenty of national trust properties and places to see on our days off in the South Downs.  And of course, what is always important as part of a holiday is new ideas with regard to painting whether you follow me step by step or diving into the unknown with a bit of guidance.  And let’s not forget food, glorious food.  Trust me, there is plenty of choice and quite an abundance.

Of course, there are plenty of other painting opportunities available so please go to https://www.sophiaflowers.com/forthcoming-classes-exhibitions-events/  for further details.  Anyone wishing to come to the Isle of Wight is welcomed with open arms and I will taylor make a painting holiday to suit your requirements whether travelling on your own or as a group.

In the meantime, happy painting – keep being creative and of course, any questions please get in touch.
