Have you ever thought about allowing yourself to run a little wild with the application of paint?  Flowers is an especially wonderful way to do this.  Rather than think/strive to produce a painting of flowers, encourage yourself to simply allow an impression of flowers to emerge, that the colours are allowed to come through as they wish and that really anything can be used from the brush to the pallette knife, to fingers, to ends of objects, to flicking and splatting paint.

The painting shown here is done with just that to encourage art students to let go.  So the sky and foreground greenery are easily applied to flow with the use of water and dried with the hairdryer.  Then the flowers are applied neat, ie without water, with some flicking and splatting.  The photo on the right gives a close up shot. Why not give it a go and have fun…..
